• CHAT WITH OTHER PHONE USERS
Important: This feature is available only if your service provider’s
network supports SMS messaging and mobile chat. Your service
provider may also require that you subscribe to the service. For
more information, contact your service provider. If the Chat menu
is not visible in your phone, then the Chat feature is not available.
You can use your phone’s chat feature to create a direct point-to-point
connection between phones. Chat provides distinct advantages over
traditional text messaging, including:

Faster send and reply
•
Direct/uninterrupted communication with chat partner
•
Ability to view the chat message history
START A CHAT SESSION

Press Menu 01-3 (Messages > Chat), then press Select.

Enter the other party’s phone number (or press Search and recall it
from the phone book), then press OK.

Enter your chat name for this session, then press OK.

Write a chat message, then press Options.
5
Press Send to send your message.
REPLY TO A CHAT MESSAGE
The reply from the other party is shown above
your original message.

Press OK to clear the screen and reply to the
message.

Press Options, then press Send to send your
reply.
Tip: You can start a chat session when replying to a regular text
message as well by selecting Options, then select Chat.
